We spoke with Matt Tricomi, PharmD, BCCCP, who is a preceptor at Vibra Hospital of the Mahoning Valley. He has hosted 10 students since May 2018 and is scheduled to host 9 more this spring!

What advice/tips could you provide to new students and young pharmacy professionals just starting their careers?

Take advantage of every training opportunity you can, and dedicate the time to learn. I promise, the hard work will be rewarded.

What positive attributes do students provide your site?

When students are on-site, the environment is perceived as one that is willing to keep up with the changes in healthcare.

Would you share the benefits of hosting students on rotation?

Students provide the spirit of education and help promote learning within all disciplines. Students help my site stay up to date on recent drug information topics and discussions.
