M2 Hardship Transfer: Transfer to NEOMED for your second year (M2) of medical school

In accord with the American Association of Medical College (AAMC) Guidelines for the Consideration of Application for Transfer, NEOMED acknowledges that a medical student has a right to apply for transfer from one medical school to another medical school and will entertain transfer applications into the M2 year.

Generally, the acceptance of transfers should be limited to students who demonstrate compelling circumstances as one of the reasons for their request for transfer. These hardships may include such factors as distance from home creating challenges with family responsibilities and equivalent circumstances, as opposed to academic difficulty.

M2 Hardship Transfer application eligibility guidelines

M2 Hardship Transfer candidates are required to:

  • Be in good academic standing and free from any professionalism concerns at their current medical schools, and otherwise eligible to continue enrollment at their current medical schools
  • Be citizens or permanent residents of the United States
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or Canadian university
  • Have successfully completed or will complete one year of coursework at their current medical school by June 1st.
