Tuition and fees for medical, dental, pharmacy and graduate studies students

Tuition and fees for medical, dental, pharmacy and graduate studies students at NEOMED are established annually by our Board of Trustees.

Students will receive detailed notifications about charges and payment options before each term begins, ensuring transparency and convenience.

We have established flat-rate billing for the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, and charges by either flat rate or credit hour for the College of Graduate Studies.

Tuition and fees will appear in categories on a student’s tuition statement online in Student Self-Service.

Financial aid and cost of attendance

Students may be eligible for financial aid to cover their full cost of attendance, not just tuition and fees.

Your cost of attendance includes tuition and fees, housing and food, books and supplies, transportation, personal expenses and required credentialing costs. You may choose to apply for additional financial aid to help cover expenses beyond tuition and fees.

View current cost of attendance information on our Financial Aid website.

Fee breakdown

This PDF provides a breakdown of the charges included in each fee listed in the tables above. Fee details (PDF).

For non-residents

Students admitted as non-Ohio residents will be charged a non-resident surcharge. However, they may be eligible to apply for Ohio residency reclassification for tuition purposes.

To qualify, students must provide documentation showing they have lived in Ohio for at least one calendar year and are financially independent from out-of-state sources. Other documentation requirements also apply.

Learn more about Ohio residency reclassification on the University Registrar’s website.

Leave of absence or withdrawal

Students who take a leave of absence or withdraw from classes during the academic year may be eligible for a partial tuition refund.

Financial aid that has already been disbursed may need to be returned based on the student’s last date of attendance. Fees are nonrefundable after the first day of classes.

For details, review the NEOMED Tuition, Fees and Insurance Refund Policy.

To learn how an enrollment change may affect financial aid eligibility, review the Return of Title IV and Institutional Aid Policy.

Tuition payment deadlines and policies

University policy requires tuition payment by the following deadlines:

Summer term

  • Returning students: Tuition must be paid on or before the first day of classes.
  • New students: Tuition must be paid two weeks before the first day of classes.

Fall and spring terms

  • All students must pay tuition two weeks before the first day of classes.

Payment may be made by credit card, personal check, scholarship awards, federal or private loans, or a combination of these payment methods.

Students who have not paid their balance in full, accepted federal or private loans, or enrolled in a payment plan by the due date will not be permitted to attend classes. A late fee will be assessed 10 days after the due date if the student account remains unresolved.

The University will make every effort to assist students in meeting their tuition obligations.

Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018

In accordance with the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018, NEOMED will not charge late fees, place an accounting hold on a student’s account or prevent registration because of a delay in the disbursement of GI Bill® benefits.

NEOMED also will not require students to use Title IV federal financial aid, such as Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans or Grad PLUS Loans, to cover a balance while they are waiting for GI Bill® benefits to be disbursed.

Students may choose to borrow Title IV loans and return those funds after their GI Bill® benefits are disbursed.

If GI Bill® benefits do not cover all required fees or optional fees, the student is responsible for paying the remaining balance according to NEOMED’s payment policy. If the remaining balance is not paid on time, the student may be charged late fees, receive an accounting hold or be deregistered.
