Providing quality education to advance community health
Northeast Ohio Medical University is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is one of the six regional agencies that accredit U.S. colleges and universities at the institutional level. In 2013, NEOMED was reaccredited by the Commission for 10 years, the maximum period allowed. The university’s next site visit by a Commission team will be in 2023.
The University is chartered as an educational institution under the laws of the State of Ohio and holds a Certificate of Authorization from the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
Individual Program Accreditation
NEOMED also has many academic programs that hold additional accreditation from, and have met the educational quality standards of, accrediting agencies that are specific to their individual disciplines.
College of Medicine
The College of Medicine’s Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree program is fully accredited Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The last comprehensive site visit for LCME reaccreditation purposes took place in March 2019. The final report of the LCME site visit team is expected in October 2019.
College of Pharmacy
The College of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy degree program is fully accredited* by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
Master of Public Health Program
NEOMED’s Master of Public Health program is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)
Continuing Medical Education
NEOMED’s Office of Continuing Professional Education has been fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) since 1983, and was awarded Accreditation with Commendation in 2012. This status is awarded to less than a quarter of those who apply.
Continuing Pharmacy Education
NEOMED’s Continuing Pharmacy Education is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). In the Spring of 2013 the Office of Continuing Professional Education received continued accreditation from the ACPE.
