Continuing Education

Assisting health professionals in their pursuit of life-long learning

Educational activities are designed for practicing health professionals from local, regional, national and international geographic areas whose work crosses the continuum of primary care, specialty care, and tertiary care.

As a courtesy to NEOMED Volunteer Clinical Faculty, we are excited to announce that we have an account with an online CE tracking system for healthcare professionals, eeds. This is the one spot where you can find upcoming events, download course materials, take online evaluations, and with your free subscription login to get your CE certificates and transcripts, and record self-reported credit. Professional Development Opportunities

Continuing Professional Development focuses on providing opportunities as determined and initiated by the College of Medicine departments and through joint sponsor relationships with other organizations including state health agencies, community and regional hospitals, and medical professional societies. CPD activities are developed based on needs assessment data to ensure that activities present current, state-of-the-art, evidence-based information in order to improve health professional competence, performance and/or patient outcomes.

About the Office

Accreditation

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is housed in Clinical Affairs within the College of Medicine.

We are accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing education credits for physicians. In addition, we have established mechanisms to provide CE credits for a broad spectrum of allied health professionals. In the spring of 2021, CPD underwent ACCME reaccreditation and was reaccredited as a provider until July 2026.

Joint accreditation

We provide joint accreditation for health systems and professional societies in Northeast Ohio and beyond. We have provided accreditation for continuing education events organized by such institutions such:

  • the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services;
  • Oriana House;
  • County of Summit ADM Board; and
  • Ohio Public Health Partnership.

Note: this list is not inclusive.

Mission

As a College of Medicine-based operation, we seek to improve the health and quality of life of the communities of Ohio and beyond, including those both diverse and underserved.

This is accomplished by providing educational opportunities that:

  • support health professionals,
  • improve their competence in medical knowledge, in practice-based learning, and in interpersonal and communication skills, and
  • enhance both professionalism and systems-based practice.

All of which ultimately improves patient health outcomes.
