The Department of Family and Community Medicine at NEOMED focuses on three broad research areas including primary care, population and public health and medical culture, and health education and career development.

Hearing Research
Deepening the understanding of how the central nervous system functions in association with hearing and vocal communication, how it is affected by hearing disorders, and how interventions of the peripheral and central nervous systems may ameliorate hearing disorders.

Heart & Blood Vessel Disease
Advancing the understanding of heart and blood vessels diseases with the goal of stopping their progression and ultimately, curing them.

Musculoskeletal Research
Focused on developing bone and tissue regrowth processes to address the needs of our aging population with debilitating conditions such as arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis and bone fractures.
