New Faces & News Roles at the College of Pharmacy

Categories: Faculty PrideIt has been a busy year of recruitment and hiring at NEOMED’s College of Pharmacy! A total of 16 new hires or relocations have occurred over the last 12 months.
Within the Office of the Dean, new roles have been created for Sue Bruce, PharmD, BCPS (Senior Associate Dean for Education) and Seth Brownlee, PharmD, BCCCP (Senior Associate Dean for Program Quality and Student Success) and a new Administrative Specialist has joined the fold (Andrea Slanina).
In the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Mate Soric, PharmD, BCPS has moved into the Acting Chair role and has overseen the hiring of new faculty members in a practice-based role with Summa Akron City Hospital (Rachel Dragovich (Hoffman), PharmD, Stephanie Zampino, PharmD, and Chris Shelby, PharmD, BCPS), University Hospital Portage Medical Center (Jessica Emshoff, PharmD, BS, BCPS, PCGP and Derek Frost, PharmD, BCPS), University Hospital Geauga Medical Center (Abbey Agler, PharmD, BCPS), and Aultman Alliance Community Hospital (Kevin Fuschetto, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM). Chris Paxos, PharmD, BCPP, BCPS, BCGP has moved into a full-time campus-based role as the Director of Pharmacotherapy along with new roles for Lukas Everly, PharmD, BCPS (Assistant Director, Experiential Education) and Jackie Boyle, PharmD, MS, MBA, BCACP, BCPS (Assistant Dean for Student Success).
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has hired Erin Reed-Geaghan, PhD into an Assistant Professor role. She will be taking the course directorship for the new Immunology and Biotechnology course kicking off this fall.
Rounding out the list are 2 new Curriculum Coordinators, Katie Battaglia, MEd and Kristi Kamis, MEd.
Alongside new faces and roles, we have several faculty that have received promotions! Jackie Boyle, PharmD, MS, MBA, BCACP, BCPS and Alex Hoffman, PharmD, BCPS were promoted to Associate Professors. Takhar Kasumov, PhD was granted tenure and promotion to Associate Professor, and Vanessa Fitsanakis, PhD was granted tenure.

Kristi Kamis, MEd is a Curriculum Coordinator in the Office of Education, College of Pharmacy.
