For KSU faculty and staff

Welcome!

All faculty and staff members are welcome to continue using the on-campus health center for medical care. The health center remains a convenient, fully accessible resource right here on campus to support your personal health and well-being.

Services, hours and more

Under NEOMED Health Care leadership, you will benefit from a modernized healthcare experience and enhanced resources, including:

  • Expanded services: Access to comprehensive primary care, acute care for a variety of conditions, routine preventive services, chronic disease management, general gynecological and women’s health, travel medicine and vaccines. Additionally, psychiatric care and assessment services will be expanded. See all the services we offer.
  • Epic EMR and MyChart integration: The health center is transitioning to the Epic electronic medical record system. This digital integration connects care with regional and national providers and allows you to easily manage appointments, view test results and access your health data through the MyChart portal.
  • Hours of operation: The health center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Insurance and billing

NEOMED Health Care accepts more than 30 insurance plans, both in-network and out-of-network, including university employee insurance plans. For faculty and staff, your insurance policy will be billed at the time of service just as it would in any external medical setting. We recommend reaching out to your insurance carrier or the health center directly to confirm your plan’s specific network status, deductibles and co-pay requirements.

Your existing medical records will remain completely secure and confidential under federal and state privacy laws. To ensure your care transitions smoothly, your records can be transferred into the new Epic system once you provide permission during your next visit or scheduling request.

Acute and same-day appointment available

NEOMED Health Care at DeWeese does accept same-day appointments for acute visits and other medical needs. Same-day appointments are usually available. Patients can schedule an appointment by calling our appointment line at 330-672-2322.

About the NEOMED and Kent State partnership

Kent State University is partnering with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED Health Care) to operate KSU’s on-campus health center, DeWeese Health Center. This strategic partnership is designed to strengthen Kent State’s healthcare services and ensure that our entire campus community has continued access to high-quality, patient-centered care.

If you have additional questions, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at ODOS@kent.edu.

Continuity of Care

We are pleased to share that outside of those who plan to retire, many of the same dedicated staff members will continue to provide care at the health center. Additionally, the partnership with NEOMED brings a team of board-certified and nationally recognized physicians to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of care.
