Results from NEOMED’s COVID-19 Pop-Up Testing Site

Northeast Ohio Medical University hosted a no-cost, drive-up COVID-19 testing July 21, 23 and 25, in partnership with Portage County Health District, Portage County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, University Hospitals Portage County Medical Center, and the Ohio National Guard ― which conducted the testing.

Portage County Health Commissioner Joseph Diorio recently provided the Record-Courier with an update on the testing results.

Diorio said that overall, NEOMED’s testing site logged five to six percent positive test results. He noted that Portage County residents made up 54 percent of individuals tested, and 47 residents from Portage County tested positive.

Of the 530 Summit County residents who were tested, 46 percent of them tested positive, the Record-Courier reported.

326 more residents were tested from surrounding counties, including Cuyahoga County, Trumbull County and more.
