Ohio Physiological Society Meeting, Oct. 27

Registration for the Ohio Physiological Society Conference is now open! The day-long event features presentations by students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty from universities throughout Ohio, along with two poster sessions for trainees of all levels. Kenneth Walsh, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and director of the Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute at Boston University School of Medicine, will deliver the keynote address, “A Common Physiological Link between Hematological Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease.”

Several awards will be given for best presentations. Travel awards will also be presented for students to attend the upcoming national Experimental Biology Conference in San Diego.

J. Gary Meszaros, Ph.D., associate professor of integrative medical sciences, is the president of the professional organization, which was founded in 1986 with the purpose of “enhancing and advancing the field of physiology as a coordinated discipline consisting of the many subdisciplines working at the molecular, cellular, and organ system levels of organization in both basic and applied areas.’’
