NEOMED to Give Away Free Tree Seedlings to the Public in Observation of Arbor Day

In honor of Arbor Day, a holiday that encourages people to plant trees, NEOMED will be handing out 100 tree and shrub seedlings to the public, free of charge. The seedlings will include pine, maple, spruces, tulip trees and dogwoods. Seedlings will be available April 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the atrium of the NEOMED Education and Wellness (NEW) Center.

The seedings will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. NEOMED employees will also be planting several seedlings around campus in observation of Arbor Day.

As a health sciences university with a mission to improve the health, economy and quality of life of the diverse communities of Northeast Ohio, NEOMED was recently designated with Tree Campus USA status by the National Arbor Day Foundation for its efforts to promote the growth and maintenance of healthy trees. This event is sponsored by the University’s Tree Campus USA committee.
