Joshua Tidd, Medicine Student from Lima, Appointed to Northeast Ohio Medical University Board of Trustees

Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Joshua Tidd, a second-year College of Medicine student at NEOMED, to serve as a student member on the Northeast Ohio Medical University Board of Trustees for a term beginning June 30, 2020 and ending June 29, 2022.

Tidd is involved in many leadership positions at NEOMED, including serving as a class representative in the Student Impact Committee to enhance student feedback and communication within the College of Medicine, which also serves as a student leadership group for the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation visits. Tidd is a student representative for Business Leadership in Medical Practice to promote interest in business and leadership among medicine students. He is also the community service chair for the Orthopedic Interest Group, and is a member of the Geriatrics Interest Group, where he organizes bowling events for classmates and senior citizens to help build relationships between the two groups. Tidd also volunteers regularly at NEOMED’s Student-Run Free Clinic, which provides free primary care services to members of the community.

“My variety of interests and activities will be helpful to the Board of Trustees by giving a balanced and comprehensive student perspective,” said Tidd. “I realize that our value as a University is measured in the quality of our students’ education and the positive impact we have on the local community.”

A graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School, Tidd obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in finance at The Ohio State University, graduating with a 3.9 grade point average.
