President John Langell and Vissy Elad, a second-year student in the College of Medicine, spoke to News 5 Cleveland about the importance of diversity in the health professions. They also shared the strides NEOMED is taking to address the issue, particularly in providing opportunities for success for underrepresented minority students.

“Our goal is to create a workforce that’s representative of the society we live in,” said Dr. Langell in the interview.

Elad shared her thoughts on the importance of representation of underrepresented minority groups among physicians. “Having people come in right to the medical field that belong to these groups can help provide better care for these groups,” she said.
