Health Experts Warn: COVID-19 Is Worse Than the Flu

As influenza season approaches, U.S. health experts warn against comparing it with COVID-19. “While both COVID-19 and the flu are serious illnesses with potentially deadly consequences, COVID-19 is far more deadly than the flu,” says Yahoo Sports.

Richard Watkins, M.D., an infectious disease physician and professor of internal medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University, described the lingering effects of COVID-19 to Yahoo Sports in a recent interview: Some patients “get better but don’t get back to normal for months, and some never fully recover. There is a lot we still don’t know about COVID-19, and it is very irresponsible not to take it seriously,” said Dr. Watkins.
