Frese lecturer is social media influencer who advocates for people with schizophrenia

The Coordinating Centers of Excellence in the Department of Psychiatry and Peg’s Foundation will host schizophrenia advocate and social media influencer Nathan Shuherk for the 2024 Drs. Fred and Penny Frese Lecture from 3-4 p.m., Thursday, May 23, in Watanakunakorn Auditorium or via Zoom.

The lecture honors the late Fred Frese, Ph.D., and Penny Frese, Ph.D., by highlighting the experiences of individuals who have successfully navigated schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses. Dr. Fred Frese was a professor of psychiatry and taught NEOMED students about his lived experience and had delivered more than 2,000 presentations locally, nationally and internationally in a career that stretched more than 40 years.
