Clinic Using Telemedicine During COVID-19

The SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic will serve patients exclusively through telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Until further notice, the Clinic is not offering in-person office visits or labs.

The clinic will prescribe medications and order labs to be drawn at UH Portage Hospital. No controlled substances are prescribed at the SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic, nor will they be. Patients will be directed to UH Portage Hospital in the case that the provider determines they are in need of evaluation that is unable to be done due to the nature of telemedicine.

Patients are being screened for COVID-19 symptoms via telephone. If positive, patient’s symptoms are further evaluated to determine severity. Patients requiring follow-up testing will be referred to UH Portage Hospital or the local Portage County Health Department.
