Applications Open for AHEC Scholars Program

Rising college juniors who are interested in rural or urban community health are invited to apply to the AHEC Scholars Program, which offers free hands-on training with health professionals.

The AHEC program scholars will participate in activities to explore the social determinants of health and health disparities. Topics of discussion will include poverty and health, infant mortality, health and well-being, opioid and substance abuse, and motivational interviewing. Activities will take place at several locations including NEOMED and partner universities.

The AHEC program is open to applicants who are in their junior year by the fall 2019 semester at one of the following NEOMED partner universities: Cleveland State University, Kent State University Stark, The University of Akron or Youngstown University.
