NEOMED alumna Megan Adelman, Pharm.D. (’15), hosted a discussion of treatment options for childhood obesity on a recent episode of the ASHP podcast.
Dr. Adelman, a clinical pharmacy specialist with Cleveland Clinic Akron General, led the discussion with Ha Phan, Pharm.D., CDCES, BCACP, clinical associate professor, University of Mississippi.
The podcast highlighted Food and Drug Administration-approved pharmacotherapy options for adolescents, considerations for side effects and monitoring, and the importance of pairing medications with lifestyle interventions. Drs. Adelman and Ha also explored strategies for providing patient-centered, bias-free care and engaging families in long-term weight management.
