On Saturday, Sept. 27, NEOMED’s AHEC Scholars will take part in an eye-opening session titled Blueprint for Financial Success, designed to empower future healthcare professionals with the tools to establish a strong financial foundation.
Using the “financial house” framework, the presentation will walk Scholars through the essential pillars of financial wellness—budgeting, debt management, protection strategies, asset growth and long-term wealth preservation. True to the theme Health is Wealth, the session will focus on financial education and empowerment, providing practical knowledge without promoting specific products.
Recognizing that many healthcare professionals may work as independent contractors without access to traditional employee benefits, the discussion will highlight critical strategies for saving, planning for taxes, and preparing for retirement. Scholars will also examine real-world scenarios, such as the long-term growth potential of saving just $25, $50 or $100 each month starting at age 20—powerful examples of how small, consistent steps can create lasting financial security.
This engaging workshop reinforces an important truth: just as healthy habits lead to physical well-being, smart financial habits build stability and peace of mind. Our AHEC Scholars will walk away with valuable insights that will serve them not only in their personal lives but also in their future roles as healthcare leaders.
