As part of Northeast Ohio Medical University’s Division of Clinical Sciences, the Department of Radiology actively engages practicing healthcare professionals from NEOMED-affiliated hospitals across northeast Ohio. These dedicated volunteers generously donate their time to mentor and train University students.

Through their daily practice and interactions with medical students, these volunteer faculty members exemplify NEOMED’s core values of competence, communication, caring, character, and community. Their commitment to education and mentorship plays a vital role in shaping future healthcare professionals.

Department chair

William Demas, M.D., is chair of the Department of Radiology. Dr. Demas’ practice is based at Salem Regional Medical Center. Prior to this he served as Chief of the Division of Radiotherapy at Summa Health.

Dr. Demas earned his medical degree from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in radiation oncology at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX.
