ID badges

When you first come to the NEOMED campus, you will need to obtain an ID badge to be able to gain entry into the buildings. You can have this done by going to the security office in room A-90. This will require a photo ID.

Parking

The BMS Graduate Program Committee at NEOMED will fund the cost of your annual NEOMED parking pass. Bring a photo ID to the Security office in room A-90 (when you have your ID badge made). You will need to give them your license plate number, make, model, year and color of your vehicle. The office has a list of students whose parking passes will be paid for by the program. This benefit is only available for those students who are based at NEOMED. All other BMS students need to purchase a KSU parking permit –see attached guidelines. The NEOMED parking pass is acceptable to use in the commuter lots at KSU.

WHALE Card

Your ID badge is your WHALE card. You can load funds onto your WHALE card and use it in the Nook Bookstore, Café Clark, Rootstown Community Pharmacy, Erie Island Coffee, and the Bistro to receive a discount. The discount varies by location.

Add funds to your WHALE card

Note that there is a $1.00 convenience fee to add funds electronically.

You may also add funds to your card at no charge using cash or credit at the registers in the Bistro, Café Clark and Erie Island Coffee.  Simply tell the cashier that you would like to add funds to your card and they will help you.

Sequoia Wellness Center

You may sign up for a Sequoia Wellness Center gym membership courtesy of the BMS program at NEOMED. To do this, go to Sequoia Wellness Center’s front desk in the NEW Center and tell them you are a graduate student in the BMS program at NEOMED and show them a picture ID. Your complimentary membership will be active for three months, and you may renew as often as you like while you are a student here. Jackie Smallridge is the manager at Sequoia, in case you have questions.

Health Insurance Premiums

The BMS Graduate Program Committee at NEOMED has voted to reimburse students based at NEOMED who are enrolled in Kent State University’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for the cost of their annual healthcare premium. This policy will be reviewed on a year-to-year basis, remaining in effect as long as adequate funds are available. Please submit documentation of the paid premium and your current mailing address to Nona Hose by email at nhose@neomed.edu or in person in suite G-235 and a check for reimbursement will be issued.
