University Faculty Council

Council membership

The membership of University Faculty Council is provided for in the University Faculty Bylaws (Section F.4) and includes:

• One (1) member from each department with one (1) to four (4) full-time NEOMED Employed Faculty, selected by respective departments;
• Two (2) members from each department with five (5) to twenty-four (24) full-time NEOMED Employed Faculty, selected by respective departments;
• Four (4) members from each department with twenty-five (25) or more full-time NEOMED Employed Faculty, selected by respective departments;
• Two (2) members of the graduate faculty selected by the Graduate Faculty Council;
• One (1) member of the NEOMED Affiliated Faculty from the College of Medicine;
• One (1) member of the NEOMED Affiliated Faculty from the College of Pharmacy; and
• One (1) member of the NEOMED Affiliated Faculty from the Bitonte College of Dentistry.

Faculty shall be chosen by peer election whenever possible, following a call for nominations. If an insufficient number of nominations are received, the UNMC may make additional recommendations to fill vacant positions.

Length of term is three years and may be staggered to ensure continuity.
