Apply to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Program at NEOMED

Explore our traditional admissions pathway for those who are finishing their undergraduate prerequisites or already hold a degree

🎯 Who should apply?

Those who are:

• Completing or have completed the required 60 credit hours of undergraduate coursework
• Aiming for a career in community or hospital pharmacy, or in a clinical setting
• Working as a pharmacy technician or in another healthcare role
• Exploring health careers and curious about pharmacy as a profession

Note: A bachelor’s degree is not required for admission.

We are the only college of pharmacy in northeastern Ohio, but we welcome students from across the United States. Our tuition and fees for non-residents are competitive with other public pharmacy schools, and we encourage applications from beyond Ohio.

🔒 Eligibility: Only U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents are eligible. NEOMED is not certified to accept F-1 visa international students.

3+4 program with Kent State University

NEOMED offers a 3+4 articulation program with Kent State University. Here’s how it works:

• Spend 3 years at Kent State earning a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry concentration
• Use NEOMED’s Early Assurance Program to enter the Pharm.D. program early
• Complete your final Kent State degree requirements through Pharm.D. coursework at NEOMED

🔄 Transfer applicants

Already in a pharmacy program? You may be eligible to transfer into P2, P3, or P4 (second, third, or fourth year) of NEOMED’s Pharm.D. curriculum:

• Apply via PharmCAS for P1 admission
• The admissions committee will review your academic history and evaluate if you qualify for advanced standing

Note: We do not transfer course credit—but if admitted to a higher-level class, we assume you’ve already met equivalent proficiencies.

International coursework

If you completed coursework abroad and are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you are welcome to apply. Be sure to submit a WES (World Education Services) evaluation with your PharmCAS application.

✅ Eligibility guidelines

To be considered for admission, NEOMED recommends that Pharm.D. applicants:

• Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and 2.5 science GPA (as calculated by PharmCAS)
• Complete all 60 semester hours of prerequisite coursework before enrollment. (Tip: Apply for admission early and interview while your prerequisite coursework is in progress.)
• Earn at least a C- or higher in each prerequisite course
• Show interest in pharmacy through employment, volunteering or extracurricular activities
• Demonstrate leadership skills

Key application dates for August 2026 start

We recommend applying as early as possible to allow time for interviews, transcript reviews and a campus visit.
