Student Health Fee
See an FAQ about the Student Health Fee.
Copay, co-insurance and deductibles
Patients are responsible for copays, deductibles and co-insurance, as well as any non-covered charges, as indicated on the insurance explanation of payment. Patients may also receive a separate bill for lab services from Quest Diagnostics or services performed outside of NEOMED Health Care at DeWeese.
Paying without health insurance
The Student Health Fee allows students to receive treatment without the concern of paying a co-pay at the time of treatment. All other charges for services provided by NEOMED Health Care at DeWeese Health Center will be based on your insurance coverage.
As described elsewhere, for students who carry medical insurance, their policy will be billed as it would in any other care setting. For those students who choose to self-pay or are uninsured and for whom the cost of services would cause financial hardship, the care outlined above will be provided so long as the student attests that they do not have insurance and the cost of care would result in a financial hardship. Any outside referrals, testing, medication or other diagnostic tests will require payment outside of the Student Health Fee.
