The Washington Post Notes Acton’s Influence

June 1, 2020

Amy Stearns Acton, M.D. (’90), has served as Ohio’s director of health since her appointment by Governor Mike DeWine in February 2019. In a recent profile of Dr. Acton, Griff Witte of the Washington Post said the influence of  the Northeast Ohio Medical University alumna has been “undeniable,” attracting both fans and protesters.

Witte notes, “The backlash against Acton reflects a broader rebuke of the medical advisers who are counseling caution as the nation enters its third month since coronavirus shutdowns kicked off.”
