Pharmacy Discovery Day for Prospective Students

For prospective pharmacy students, we offer small-group sessions on campus so you may learn more about our pharmacy programs.

Medicine Discovery Day for Prospective Students

Northeast Ohio Medical University offers small group sessions on campus for you to learn more about our pathways to the M.D. program in the College of Medicine.

Medicine Discovery Day sessions are for anyone interested in a career as a physician. The sessions include:

  • the admission pathways to the College of Medicine: Early Assurance with NEOMED partner schools, Early Decision and Regular Decision;
  • how to be a competitive applicant for medical school;
  • a review of pre-requisites, admission requirements and processing timeline for medical school; and
  • a tour of our campus in Rootstown, Ohio.

VITALS with Bernhard Fassl, M.D.

Bernhard Fassl, M.D., director of the Center for Global Health Innovation at NEOMED, will speak at VITALS at noon, Thursday, Dec. 1 via Zoom. The talk is free and open to the public.

Dr. Fassl has led several maternal-child health projects in India, Nepal, Tibet and other sites around the globe. His research is focused on reducing inequities in health care access and quality on a global scale through frugal innovation and quality improvement strategies.

Since joining NEOMED in January 2022, Dr. Fassl has led NEOMED’s collaboration with health innovators in Nepal, India and Kenya who have taken on the challenge of finding cost-effective solutions for their health systems through innovation and social entrepreneurship. The public-private-academic collaborative connects health care needs at the grassroots level with social, medical, engineering and other entrepreneurs who explore new approaches.

Trunk or Treat for Children 12th Grade and Under

Students at Northeast Ohio Medical University will host a ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, in the NEOMED visitor parking lot. Students will be passing out candy from their Halloween-themed decorated cars to children of all ages ― 12th grade and under. The event is sponsored by the NEOMED Student Council and Office of Student Services.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration is needed to attend. For questions, call 330.325.6735.

Seminar: Regulation of Hepatic Lipid Metabolism in the Fatty Liver Disease

Charlie Dong, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, will present “Regulation of Hepatic Lipid Metabolism in the Fatty Liver Disease” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in RGE-123.

The seminar is part of the Dr. Hans G. Folkesson Memorial Seminar Series presented by the IMS Department.
