Student AuBree LaForce Appointed to NEOMED Board of Trustees
Third-year College of Medicine student AuBree LaForce, who plans to serve as a primary care physician, has been appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine to serve as a student member of the Northeast Ohio Medical University Board of Trustees for a term ending June 29, 2021.
As an appointed student delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA)-Medical Student Section, LaForce recently traveled to San Diego to participate in the 2019 AMA Interim Meeting, where she discussed resolutions on the improvement of health care access in underserved areas, board certification issues and co-pay accumulators.
LaForce presented clinical research on hypertension at the Family Medicine Education Consortium, Inc. Annual Meeting in Rye Brook, New York. Active in NEOMED’s Rural Pathway program, she volunteers regularly at NEOMED’s SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic, which provides free primary care services to members of the community.
“I have a passion for the underserved and thrive when I can give back in any way possible,” LaForce said. “I’m excited to be a voice for the students and to help be a positive force for our University.”
A graduate of Vermillion High School, LaForce earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio.
