Raneem Alayoubi, College of Pharmacy student

Student Accepted to Pharmacy Leadership Academy

Each year, the Pharmacy Ownership and Leadership Academy (POLA) selects just 40 pharmacy students from across the U.S. for a week-long pharmacy leadership experience.

This year, second-year Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Pharmacy student Raneem Alayoubi was accepted into the academy, held on the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences campus in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Over the course of a week in June, Alayoubi will have the opportunity to learn what it takes to own a pharmacy and how to write business plans, as well as to learn personal and professional development; self-awareness; and the importance of leadership in the pharmacy profession.

“I’m so honored to be a part of this,” says Alayoubi. “I truly believe that to practice at the top of our license, we need to showcase our ability and push the envelope of what defines a pharmacist. This academy will do that, not only helping me grow personally and professionally, but help me develop the skills needed to advocate for my profession and create my own dream job.”
