Sharlene Ramos Chesnes, president and CEO of TrueNorth Global LSP, was recognized at her last meeting of the NEOMED Board of Trustees in September. Ramos Chesnes had served as a Trustee since 2013, making her the longest serving Trustee in NEOMED history.
“In her tenure, Sharlene has provided visionary leadership as chair of the trusteeship committee, Chair of the Executive Committee and through her service on every standing committee of the Board of Trustees,” said Darrell McNair, Chair of the Board. “Her wisdom, commitment and strategic insight have left a lasting legacy on NEOMED’s growth and mission.”
Ramos Chesnes expressed amazement over the growth of NEOMED during her time as a Trustee. When she joined the Board, the University was in transition, having just become a stand-alone graduate and professional university and undergoing a recent name change. The Board was also going through a major transition in composition, from predominantly physicians to physicians and professionals with different skill sets and areas of expertise outside of healthcare.
“The blending of expertise was essential for growth, and it allowed NEOMED to take bold steps forward,” she noted. “Over the past 12 years, I have been proud to witness and contribute to the extraordinary evolution.”
