Ready to Part Ways with Your Face Covering? Not So Fast.

Wearing a face covering every day can be daunting, but health experts like Richard Watkins, M.D., an infectious disease physician and professor of internal medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University, say to buckle down — we’re in it for the long haul.

Dr. Watkins expresses to Women’s Health readers in a recent article that a good COVID-19 vaccine must be developed before we can ditch our face coverings for good.

Even then, Dr. Watkins believes people will need to wait until “the vaccine is widely available and experts think herd immunity has been reached.”
