President Langell Looks at the Future of NEOMED

John Langell, M.D., Ph.D., is optimistic about the future of health care and its education systems – especially programs like Project ECHO®, for which Northeast Ohio Medical University serves as a superhub. President Langell recently shared with Cleveland.com that he is excited for programs like Project ECHO, which advance health care in innovative, collaborative ways.

Project ECHO is a national program that began at the University of New Mexico in 2003 to equip primary care health providers in underserved areas with specialized training via videoconferencing. Through this training, providers can offer expertise that their patients would otherwise have difficulty obtaining, given the shortage of specialists in these remote or otherwise underserved locations.
