NEOMED President John T. Langell joined the leaders of Miami University and The Christ Hospital on WKRC-TV 12 in Cincinnati to discuss a new partnership between the three institutions aimed at addressing Ohio’s physician shortage.
Through the partnership, students will transfer to NEOMED’s College of Medicine from Miami University to earn their M.D. degrees. The goal is for them to then complete residency at The Christ Hospital, and ultimately practice in the state.
“We know that if you train in medical school in the state and you do your residency in the state – it’s about 80 percent of the time they’ll stay and practice long-term,” Dr. Langell shared in the interview.
