A bill introduced in the Ohio Senate proposes several changes to higher education across the state.
Senate Bill 83, also known as the Ohio Higher Education Enhancement Act, would make changes that could impact Northeast Ohio Medical University.

It’s important to underscore that the bill’s introduction is the first step in the legislative process. It will undergo changes as legislators hear from interested parties before potentially becoming law.
John Stilliana, vice president of government and external affairs, says the University will work with its association, the Inter-University Council, which is an association made up of all the 14 public universities in the state, to advocate for certain changes as the legislative process proceeds.
“Through the Inter-University Council,” Stilliana said, “we work closely with Ohio’s 13 other public universities to provide feedback to legislators as this bill moves through the legislative process.”
