NEOMED teams with Browns to encourage a love of reading

In celebration of National Reading Month, Northeast Ohio Medical University partnered with the Cleveland Browns to launch the inaugural “Teamwork for Tomorrow: Read, Serve, Inspire” event.

Held at Seiberling Community Learning Center in Akron, NEOMED students, faculty and staff engaged with first- through third-grade students, reading books together and fostering a love for literacy.

“For me, being an alumni (of Seiberling CLC), this is a full circle moment – especially seeing that the kids are very smart and they have very bright futures,” Karlton Cherry, a second-year pharmacy student said. “It’s really about empowering them and allowing them to understand that they can be whoever they want to be.”
