NEOMED Professor Wins Distinguished Hospice Physician Award

The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine recently honored Kevin Dieter, M.D. (’85) as the 2019 recipient of the Josefina B. Magno Distinguished Hospice Physician Award. Dr. Dieter was presented the award at the AAHPM’s annual conference, held in Orlando.

The Northeast Ohio Medical University associate professor of family and community medicine currently serves as an associate medical director at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Dieter also directs medical care at David Simpson Hospice House inpatient care unit, a nonprofit agency in Cleveland.

The Josefina B. Magno Distinguished Hospice Physician Award is granted each year to a hospice medical director or hospice physician who provides the highest quality services and innovative programs, and who demonstrates exemplary dedication to the practice of palliative medicine in a hospice setting.
