Miami University and Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) today announced the Miami Northeast Ohio Nursing Program, an innovative 24-month nursing curriculum intensive program for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). This program will strengthen the nursing pipeline for all Northeast Ohio healthcare partners.

The inaugural cohort of the Northeast Ohio Nursing Program is expected to begin Miami University coursework in fall 2027. This innovative program model offers multiple points of entry, including direct admission on the Oxford campus with a planned transition to the Northeast Ohio hub; direct admission for qualified high school students following completion of Ohio Transfer 36 and required nursing prerequisites; and a streamlined transfer pathway. Students who enroll will study in the Cleveland metro area and complete clinical rotations with leading healthcare providers and other clinical partners throughout the region.

Students will take classes in Northeast Ohio following their enrollment in the cohort program. Nursing coursework will be taught by Miami faculty.

The Northeast Ohio Nursing Cohort builds on Miami’s groundbreaking educational partnerships in healthcare. Earlier in November, NEOMED announced its collaboration with Miami and The Christ Hospital Health Network of Cincinnati to establish pathways for future generations of physicians training for a medical career in Ohio.
