NEOMED Alumnus Named as System Medical Director Orthopedic Services

A 1983 Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Medicine graduate is preparing to take on a new role at Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Thomas Boniface, M.D., clinical professor and chair of orthopaedic surgery, was recently named as system medical director orthopedic services for Bon Secours Mercy Health.

In his new role, Dr. Boniface will “develop and support orthopedic system strategy, direction and operational performance,” and “will work across the system to lead initiatives to improve quality and value in collaboration with physicians, group, and market leadership,” according to an announcement by Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Bon Secours Mercy Health is the parent system for Northeast Ohio hospitals including Mercy Health – St Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and Mercy Health – St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
