Margaret Sanders, M.A., L.S.W., assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, will present on emergency preparedness at the first webinar in a new Focus on Aging webinar series. The webinar will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 13.

The National Institute on Aging (a division of the U.S. National Institutes of Health) describes the series as “a joint project of four of the federal agencies that support the health and wellness of older adults in the U.S.: the Administration for Community Living, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the National Institute on Aging.”

The webinars will present information for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (and other types of dementia) as well as for their caregivers.

Register for the webinar 1:30 – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13

In 2019, NEOMED was the lead institution among partners that were awarded a grant of $3.7 million from the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Sanders is the Principal Investigator on the project, titled “Infusing Interprofessional Geriatric Education into Primary Care and Community Environments.”
