Medical Experts Examine Ohio Reopening Guidelines as COVID-19 Cases Rise

Health officials in Ohio are taking a second look at reopening guidelines for Ohio in the wake of increased cases of COVID-19, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. One area of contention: physicians recommend that everyone wear masks, but Ohio’s reopening guidelines make them voluntary for customers.

“We need to have a high percentage of people wearing masks,” said Thomas File, M.D., professor of internal medicine and president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
