Kohlis Receive Youngstown State University’s “Friend of the University” Award

Chander Kohli, M.D., and Karen Kohli, known for their spirit of philanthropy, were recently recognized by Youngstown State University, one of Northeast Ohio Medical University’s partner schools, with YSU’s Friend of the University Award.

The Business Journal notes, “The annual Friend of the University Award recognizes the leadership and contributions to YSU and the community.”

In 2016, NEOMED re-named its medical library as the Aneal Mohan Kohli Academic and Information Technology Center in grateful recognition of a gift from the Kohlis that honors their late son, Aneal Mohan Kohli. The University also named its production studio as the Aneal Mohan Kohli Media Production Studio to honor the family for its generosity to NEOMED.

Dr. Kohli served as chair of the NEOMED board of trustees from 2013-15 and has operated a private neurosurgical practice in Youngstown since 1972.
