Katherine Tromp, Pharm.D., begins role as interim pharmacy dean

Provost Forrest Faison, M.D., shared the following message with College of Pharmacy faculty and staff earlier this week:

Dear College of Pharmacy Faculty and Staff,

As you all know, Dr. Rick Kasmer will soon be retiring [as dean of the College of Pharmacy]. An outstanding leader, he has the deep heartfelt thanks and admiration of the entire NEOMED family for his many years of outstanding contributions to both the College of Pharmacy and the University. We will benefit from his legacy of selfless service, dedication and hard work for many, many years to come.

We are fortunate to have Dr. Kat Tromp assuming the duties of interim dean of the College of Pharmacy. Effective today, Monday, June 5, she will assume those duties and responsibilities and officially step into that role. I know you will support her and work with her in the same outstanding manner as you have done so well with Dr. Kasmer.

While his last official day is June 30, we are also blessed that Dr. Kasmer will be remaining in the area and will be helping the University on several projects and efforts ahead.

Congratulations Dr. Kasmer (Rick) on an incredible career and legacy of service to both the College of Pharmacy and the University. You have touched countless lives across the years and helped so many! Thank you! Welcome Dr. Tromp (Kat)! Your leadership and dedication speak for themselves and we are indeed fortunate to have you on the NEOMED team leading the College of Pharmacy ahead. Thank you again to you both.

Sincerely,

Dr. Faison
