Huntington Bank Assists NEOMED Foundation to Raise Funds for Community COVID-19 Relief

Huntington Bank is supporting Northeast Ohio Medical University in its goal to raise $100,000 for community relief in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The bank has agreed to match all new and increased gifts to the NEOMED Foundation’s Blue Fund.

In addition to raising funds to support current and future students through scholarships and academic programs, the Foundation commits to raise at least $100,000 for this year’s Blue Fund to address four specific needs in response to the COVID-19 crisis:

  • Free meals for local families
  • New personal protective equipment (PPE) for students, faculty and staff who  donated all of their supplies to local hospitals
  • Expanded mental health services for NEOMED students
  • Funds to support students with financial emergencies

The Huntington match will continue for the first $35,000 of new and increased gifts to the Blue Fund.

Thousands of NEOMED alumni are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout Northeast Ohio and all 50 states. On Saturday, May 2, 2020, NEOMED graduated its latest class of 229 physicians, pharmacists, researchers and other health professionals.
