Friebert Honored as Visionary in Hospice and Palliative Medicine

Sarah Friebert, M.D., a professor of pediatrics at NEOMED and director of Akron Children’s Hospital’s Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center, was recently honored as one of the 30 most influential leaders and hospital and palliative medicine by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliate Medicine (AAHPM). In conjunction with the organization’s 30th anniversary, Dr. Friebert was selected one of 30 honorees among nearly 150 nominees to be recognized for her contributions to the field of hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Friebert founded the Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center in 2002, with a team that focuses on children and young adults with complex, chronic or serious medical conditions.
