Coronavirus Q&As from Infectious Disease Expert

Dr. FileThomas File Jr. M.D., a clinical faculty member who is the president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, spoke recently to the Akron Beacon Journal to answer questions about coronaviruses and COVID-19, a respiratory illness in a growing number of countries.

Dr. File, a professor of internal medicine, master teacher and chair of the Infectious Disease Section at NEOMED, is the chair of the infectious disease division for Summa Health. As the article notes, Dr. File’s role as head of the Infectious Diseases Society brings him into regular contact with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other infectious disease physicians around the globe.
