Six NEOMED pharmacy students volunteering at Habitat for Humanity

College of Pharmacy Students Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity

Two Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Pharmacy students hit the pause button on their homework to lend a hand to Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Ezziree Morrow and Leah Rohan, both second-year pharmacy students, joined three pharmacists from Summa Health to spend the day volunteering at Habitat for Humanity’s East Avenue Development in Akron, Ohio.

Morrow (pictured far right) shared, “This experience helped me to give back and gave me the opportunity to do something new and out of my comfort zone. We helped to frame a few garages and installed fascia around the roof of a house. We measured and cut the boards ourselves, then hand- nailed everything. It was certainly hard work, but it felt very rewarding to see what our small group was able to achieve in just one Saturday. This experience certainly helped me to appreciate the hard work that is executed daily to provide these homes.”
