College of Pharmacy launches partnership to improve quality of care

Oct. 1, 2024

The College of Pharmacy has announced a partnership with the Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network (CPESN), beginning Oct. 1.

Through this collaborative effort, NEOMED and CPESN aim to bring new resources to pharmacists in Ohio to implement provider status and advanced patient care services within community pharmacies throughout the state. Ultimately, the goal is to improve patient access, lower costs, improve patient outcomes and transform community pharmacy practice.

“The NEOMED College of Pharmacy and CPESN Ohio have mutual goals of developing indispensable leaders and transforming patient-centered care focused on community pharmacy, which are at the heart of this partnership,” said Interim Dean Katherine Tromp, Pharm.D.

The College of Pharmacy will develop education and training opportunities for practicing pharmacists and aspiring pharmacists and share best practices with local community pharmacies across Northeast Ohio and throughout the state.

Leading the implementation of this transformational work are:

  • NEOMED Associate Dean Jackie Boyle, Pharm.D., M.S., M.B.A., BCACP, FASHP;
  • Kevin Day, Pharm.D., CPESN Ohio Managing Network Facilitator; and
  • Alison Haas, Pharm.D., R.Ph., CPESN Network Lead Luminary.
