Shout out to all of this week’s Campus Kudos honorees!
Dan Addison in Campus Operations was recognized for his resourcefulness: “Dan is always pleasant, is ready with a smile and has an unmatched “can do” attitude with any task that is thrown his way. He’s the first to volunteer to help a co-worker or pitch in on even the most unpleasant of jobs (with zero complaints). His attitude and helpfulness go beyond his department and stretch across the entire University as his job takes him all over campus. I can’t think of anyone more helpful, courteous and hard working than Dan. His smile, friendly “hello” and work ethic are truly an asset to NEOMED.”
Laura Colwell in the Kohli Library was recognized for her outstanding customer service: “Laura consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism and kindness in her interactions with library patrons. Her polite demeanor, patience and willingness to go above and beyond ensure that every visitor feels welcomed and supported. Whether answering questions, assisting with research or resolving issues, she treats each patron with respect and genuine care. Her helpful attitude reflects the library’s values and greatly enhances the quality of service we provide.”
Bianka Hernandez in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs was recognized for her mentorship: “Bianka is a mentor that has played a key role in my advancement at NEOMED. She is a positive leader and manages her team for success. Bianka is a valuable resource.”
Beth Hoff in Human Resources was recognized for her patience and guidance: “Beth is outstanding in taking time to explain and guide benefit questions with a caring heart. Her personable attitude makes me feel I am valuable.”
Amy Lane in the Learning Center was recognized for her willingness to lend a helping hand: “Amy has continually provided help to our office for testing long after she has been a Program Coordinator. She is always positive and ready to lend a helping hand!”
Jason Leeworthy in Information Technology was recognized for his problem-solving skills: “I run training programs in the Psychiatry Department and had a Zoom issue. Jason was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant solving the problem with ease. I truly appreciate his expertise.” He was also recognized for being “always super friendly and ready to help out!”
Linda McCort in the Comparative Medicine Unit was recognized for her leadership: “Linda has been working hard to complete tasks for unfilled/newly hired positions in addition to her usual assignments. She has done a great job keeping the department together!”
Colleen Pearson in Testing Services was recognized for her great attitude: “Colleen always comes to work with a great attitude and new ideas to improve efficiency in our department. Great work, Colleen!”
Alyssa Pryor in the College of Medicine – Curriculum Operations was recognized for being a role model: “Alyssa goes above and beyond to serve in her role and taking on other roles. She leads with integrity and is a great role model.”
Belinda Sasala in the College of Medicine was recognized for the support of students: “Ms. Sasala worked tirelessly to make sure all of the M3 students were placed into clinical clerkships this year. Her clinical partnerships and communication skills were fundamental to her success. She is a supportive manager for the M3/M4 coordinator team.”
She was also recognized for her collaborative approach: “Belinda is holding down the fort and taking on a significant amount of additional work with the departure of two key individuals. She is handling it all with grace. She has been bringing stakeholders together to ensure tasks are adequately covered. She has taken this opportunity to evaluate “the way it’s always been done” and find efficiencies. We appreciate her collaboration.”
Taylor Szumski in Strategic Planning was recognized for exemplifying a great work ethic: “Taylor brings a positive attitude and an enviable work ethic to everything she does. She’s always willing to learn a new skill, support a colleague, or just offer a simple hello when you pass her in the hall. She’s a great colleague and an excellent example of NEOMED values!”
Jennifer Wheatley in Admissions was recognized for her professionalism: “While her manager is on PTO, Jen was able to successfully process several offers of acceptance without having detailed training on the subject. Jennifer handled the lack of supervision like a true professional to get our new students processed in Banner.”
