The NEOMED Writing Center has some exciting news to share!
A second Writing Center specialist, specializing in second language learning (SLL) and publishing, began working on Aug. 1.
Brook Wyers will be providing needed support for the Writing Center and the many SLL students, faculty and staff at NEOMED. Anticipated work includes SLL student workshops centered around reading comprehension and improving upon basic writing and grammar skills, as well as the creation of an SLL curriculum. SLL students can be defined as any student who did not grow up in a household speaking English OR someone who grew up in a household speaking English and a second language.
Brook is excited to improve the Writing Center as it expands, as well as making the Writing Center a safe place for diverse students and making accessibility for all a priority. Some of Brook’s interests include creative writing, reading, cats, cute sweaters and of course Taylor Swift.
