What is Service Learning at NEOMED?
A structured learning experience combining community service with preparation and reflection. After preparation, students will engage in a community service activity after which, reflection will take place (this can take various forms – essay, discussion and others) the process is closed with faculty providing feedback not only about the activity but, also on the reflection, (again may vary – written feedback, verbal feedback and more).
Service Learning at NEOMED is…
All students participate in service learning within the curriculum as part of the body donation, dissection and reflective practice elements. Other areas of service learning occur within the badging programs at NEOMED, and students can choose to engage in other activities as well which will be monitored by the Student Affairs team.
