This career development series is designed to equip M1 and M2 students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to support their personal and professional development as a future physician. It is used in conjunction with their individual career & advising meetings with their assigned Academic & Career advisors, as well as meetings with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
Through a blend of lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and practical exercises, students will explore various career paths within medicine, understand the residency application process, develop effective test taking skills, explore research opportunities, and cultivate essential professional skills such as leadership, communication, goal setting, and ethical decision-making. Additionally, the course will focus on student wellness and provide insights into the importance of work-life balance, and strategies for maintaining personal and financial well-being now and throughout their future medical careers.
Students can access the course through the Canvas learning platform.
